300ft Gorilla have been playing since our teens and believe we’ve now honed our art to the best it’s ever been. We’re based in Newcastle and Glasgow. (Which has never been an issue funnily enough!)
If there’s a style we fall into it would probably be a hybrid of rock/blues/funk/fusion with a contemporary edge.
Paul, Neil and Mick have been playing together for about 18 years, recently (in early 2008) joined by Hutch from Glasgow.
We record and produce our own material at Bassoctopus studios, which belongs to Neil. We put out our own album Gorilla Tactics in 2007.
The album was received well with a 5/5 review in Kerrang and album of the month in Sound on Sound magazine.
We’re always writing and recording, constantly keeping the new material coming, which is a passion of ours. In June 2008 we played in a 3 band bill at the Carling Academy in Newcastle. Since then the gigging frequency has increased, including a slot at the Montrose Music Festival in late May 09. We’re a driven, committed band with a real desire to make music and play live. Probably forever… |
